Staying at the Swan & Dolphin near Epcot - Travel Blogger Review

Swan & Dolphin | Travel Blogger Review

With the amount of time we spend vacationing in Florida, it is like we basically live there part time. I would be totally fine with making that official and buying a home on the coast of the sunshine state. For now we are more than happy to enjoy a home away from home at the Swan & Dolphin Resort in Orlando, near Disney. Just a few weeks ago we had the absolute pleasure of staying at the Swan & Dolphin resort, and had such an incredible time there. It is the perfect place to stay if you are planning a Disney vacation, but it also has enough activities and amenities on the property to keep you and your family entertained for days. Here are just a few of the reasons we loved our stay at the Swan & Dolphin.

Favorite Things About the Swan & Dolphin Resort

1. All the FREE Family Activities…

The Swan & Dolphin could totally charge money for all the activities they provide for families, but they don’t. You can take a swan shaped peddle boat out on the lake, enjoy a game of beach volleyball with your friends, cook s’mores over an open fire (they provide all the supplies), play mini golf with your family, and so much more!

2. Enjoy good food.

There are so many restaurants at The Swan & Dolphin. Our favorite place to stop for a quick bite was Fuel, right in the lobby. This breakfast spot also had a great deli selection, a bulk candy bar, and even a frozen yogurt stand. There are quite a few sit down restaurants as well. If you need more options (you won’t), the Disney Boardwalk is just a quick 5 minute walk away. At the boardwalk you will find a whole new selection of restaurants, ice cream shops, and cafes.

3. Travel without a car rental!

Don’t feel like paying for a car rental? The Swan & Dolphin has your back with everything you could possibly need in a vacation conveniently located. You can take a boat right from the hotel to a few drop off points on the Disney Boardwalk, or to Epcot. Once you get to Epcot you can catch the Disney Skyliner to Hollywood studios, and quite a few other places! Both of these options are free, quick, and conveniently located.

4. Beautiful surroundings…

The Swan & Dolphin is surrounded by beautiful scenery on every side. Enjoy walking the beautiful grounds and surrounding areas, like the Disney Boardwalk. You will find 100’s of picture perfect spots to capture memories from your vacation. One of our favorite spots was the main pool! There is a stunning faux red rock mountain backdrop, it reminded me of visiting my mom in the desserts of St. George, but with a tropical feel. Throughout the mountain are pockets of plants, hot tubs, a water slide, and even a gorgeous man made waterfall that you can swim through, and even sit behind on a lounge chair.

5. Luxury accommodations!

Before you even enter the Swan & Dolphin Resort you will get a taste of the amazing architecture. The whole structure is built to look like a pyramid, which is really quite amazing to look at. The giant dolphin and swan statues adorning the roofs are incredible! Right when you walk in to the Swan & Dolphin you can feel the luxuriousness of the stay you are about to experience! The high ceilings and grand fountain in the center of the room are absolutely breathtaking. If you are staying in the dolphin side of the resort then make sure you walk out back, towards the Disney Boardwalk, so you can see the beautiful fountains out there as well.

We had such an incredible time at the Swan & Dolphin. I missed just a couple of things. If you asked Zoey and Zander what their favorite part of the vacation was they would say the kiddie pool and the playground! They had a really fun playground for the kids and they would have stayed there all day if we let them. The kiddie pool was just about 6 inches deep, and perfect for them to splash in all day long. They loved staying at the Swan & Dolphin too, every time we see pictures of the vacation Zander yells,”GO BACK HOTEL!!!!!!” And we will definitely do that. Hopefully sooner, rather than later.
