I’ve been working on potty training Max… I kind of feel like I have a newborn. If I don’t bring him out to poop at around 4:30AM he poops in his kennel. Lately I have been sleeping on the couch near his kennel so I won’t miss his ‘I need to poop’ call and I wake up sore, and still tired 😴.
This morning I woke up on the rug beside the couch – I vaguely remember Zander kicking me off the couch at 5AM-ish. My neck was so stiff, but I somehow managed to fall back asleep on the rug and didn’t wake up till 9am.
I was very surprised by what I woke up to. Kris had left to work at 7AM, the girls were still sleeping. So sometime between 7-9 Zoey woke up, got Violet out of bed and changed her diaper, and brought her downstairs.
After that her and Zander decided to set up a ‘party’ for me. When I woke up they had stolen the coffee table from the family room to put a foosball game on. They had a snack table, complete with tiny cups of water and long straws in each. The straws had our initials written on them. Zo for Zoey, Z for Zander, R for Rachael and K for Kris. They also had a sleeping area set up… in case we wanted to take a nap at the party???
My favorite part of the whole set up was the apple bobbing station. They had gotten a tote from storage in the basement, filled it with apples, and then kitchen container by kitchen container had filled it with water. I could see their trail on the ground. Zoey insisted I dip my head in the apple bobbing bucket, and would not take no for an answer.
The whole thing just made me so happy. I love their creativity and thoughtfulness.
It took me about an hour to clean up the party 😂, but it was totally worth it!
