Some of you guys know this, but most of you probably don’t! I lived in Hawaii for college and it was such an amazing experience. Because I lived there for so long, I know a ton of secret places to visit. This one, Hukilau Beach, is right next to the University I went to and it was one of my favorite places.
Location
This beach is located near the north shore in Laie, Oahu. It is close to the popular north shore beaches and the Kahuku food trucks. Like I said earlier, it is not the most popular beach ever because of the less populated location, but it is still a great beach.
Activities
Hukilau Beach is one of the best places (in the world actually) to go kite boarding. There is almost always someone out there riding the waves. There is a good amount of sand so it’s great for tanning and laying out. There is also a nice grassy area perfect for setting up a volleyball net or playing other games.
Some other activities you can do at this beach are paddle boarding, bodyboarding and even some surfing if you are a beginner and patient for a good wave. The swimming is good here too because it has a sandy bottom. A lot of beaches on the north shore are rocky, so finding a sandy beach is a task.
View at Hukilau Beach
If you can’t tell from the pictures, this beach is beautiful! The water is turquoise and warm, the sand is golden and the trees surrounding the beach are very green and lush. Sometimes you can see turtles out here, and if you bring a snorkel there are always little fish swimming around.
