Yesterday on July 22rd, 2013 Josh Burton passed away. He was a dear friend and will be so, so very missed. I can only say that I believe God had a greater mission for him to fulfill beyond the veil sharing music, light and love with those who have already gone beyond. There are really no words to express the heart ache I feel for our loss, I am only happy to say that I had the wonderful blessing of knowing and being influenced and inspired by Josh.
Two summers ago while living in Cardston I had the amazing opportunity to share and collaborate my music with him, as well as listen as he would share his. A few times he wrote piano music for my songs and I was always blown away by his ability to take a simple melody and chords and in five minutes bring it to a whole different level, he could really grab at your heart strings with music and speak to your emotions in a way more powerful than words. His talent was a gift from God that we are all so blessed to have been touched by it.
We are all so grateful to Josh for the legacy he left behind not only through his vivacious personality that touched so many people, but through the music that he recorded that we will have forever and that will allow him to keep living in our hearts. I just wanted to re-share the thoughts I shared a few months ago of his music:
MARCH 27th, 2013
Today I will be sharing with you all some absolutely stunning piano music by a very good friend of mine. His name is Josh Burton and his album is called Sketches. Each of his songs has a story, and I have never heard piano music that is as expressive as his.

This is a beautiful tribute, Rachael. Even those of us who didn’t know Josh as well as you did have been touched by his music, his family and his story.
