So the other day Zoey discovered Cheerios ™ for the first time. One of the most awesome parts of being a mom is getting to re-experience things for the first time ever, through the eyes of your child. It always inspires me to see how blown away Zoey can be by a rock, a flower or a bug. OR in this case, how excited she was when she discovered Cheerios ™. She calls them Chee-hoes… and demanded them with every meal for two days straight. For me Cheerios ™ have just always been there, the staple breakfast that you kind of just can’t live without, but for her they are new and exciting.
Right now Cheerios ™ is doing a “Buy a box. Give a free box.” campaign. Needless to say when we heard about the new promotion going on with Cheerios ™ we were both super excited and ran straight to Walmart! There are specially marked boxes available only at Walmart for a limited time that include a coupon on the front. The coupon contains a code that allows you to give a free box of Cheerios ™ to the friend of your choice.
Since I am fairly new to the blogger community I thought it would be fun to start getting to know other bloggers. That’s why I decided to gift my free coupon to another blogger I met recently over at the Kids, Clutter and Chaos blog. She had mentioned to me that when mornings are hectic with her two cute kids she turns to Cheerios ™ as a wholesome and easy breakfast choice. I could totally relate to that, I often wake up with a pile of work waiting for me, so Cheerios ™ help make breakfast happen quicker and cleaner for my little one and me.
Since Z has been wanting to eat Cheerios ™ so often lately I came up with an easy recipe like my friend at Kids, Chaos, and Clutter likes for breakfast. I love knowing that my baby girl has some fresh fruits and veggies in her so my recipe is a simple Cheerios ™ Fruit Bowl. For the recipe all you need is Cheerios ™, 1 banana and 3-5 strawberries. To create the fruit bowl I slice the banana and strawberries and then set them aside. Then I begin to layer my Cheerios ™ Fruit bowl. First pour some Cheerios ™ in your cereal bowl, then layer the bananas on top, followed by the strawberries. Pour on some milk and you are golden!
As you may have heard, some select boxes of Cheerios and Honey Nut Cheerios produced over two weeks in July at the Lodi, California plant, have been recalled due to a wheat allergen. This recall only affects consumers with Celiac disease or a gluten-sensitivity. To learn more about the recall, and if your product is affected please go to: http://blog.generalmills.

I wanted to share the “Buy a box. Give a box.” campaign with you all so that you would have a chance to take advantage of it before it ends. Do you guys have any other simple recipe ideas including Cheerios ™? Who will you give your free box of Cheerios ™ to?
