Four Looks for Fall

Untitled-1

Fall is now in full swing and for me the best part of fall is the opportunity to fully embrace the new season with new styles and a new wardrobe. In general I love change, I rearrange my furniture often, I like moving to new places, I love the crisp air of the new season and especially the excuse to change up my look. This season I am feeling particularly attracted to thick knit sweaters, modern folk prints, anything plaid and cozy layers that allow me to maintain an active and outdoor lifestyle in the cooling weather! Today I am sharing with you my four favorite looks for fall. Let me know in the comments which is your favorite!DSC_4306DSC_4253DSC_4280DSC_4249DSC_4292DSC_4343

This outfit was inspired by the geo patterned cardigan I am wearing and the deep maroon color which is so native to fall. The sweater is from Old Navy’s new fall collection and I have been eyeing it since it arrived. As soon as I saw their 40% off sale this weekend I dove on it! I love the combination of a loose, open cardigan with a tight fitting top underneath. I tend to get lost in the material if an outfit is too baggy but layering two contrasting pieces like this adds great definition. I love this look paired with some high waisted jeans.

This outfit is for the more temperate days that are still frequenting the week quite often. It is reminiscent of summer but revived with fall colors and patterns. I love the mixture of muted, earthy tones and the lively floral print in this dress. Really it is the perfect combination of fall and summer. I have been wearing this felt floppy hat with EVERYTHING these days, but I particularly like it with this dress and cardigan.

Who could say no to a quilted puffy vest? Add to that a brushed plaid tunic, bright red lipstick, high knit stockings and lace up boots. Yes please. This is my go-to look. It is easy to put together, it is comfortable, casual, warm – everything you could hope for on a fall day. Throwing your hair up in a messy bun allows more attention to be drawn to the shape of your face, outlined by the cute collar of the vest. Also did I mention this vest comes in every fall color you could dream of? I am very tempted to run to Old Navy now and buy five more…

This last look is all about layers. I love the look of a button up shirt under a textured woven sweater. I especially love it if that top is chambray and the sweater is cocoon style, cable knit and crimson red. I am usually a bright lipstick kind of gal, but with a statement piece like this sweater I decided to tone it down with a nude colored lipstick. Creating the perfect outfit is all about details like this, the other finishing touch to this outfit was a simple gold chain and ruby. A piece of jewelry takes an outfit to the next level. I am loving the jewelry selection Old Navy has right now, I probably spent 1/2 hour just trying on rings and bracelets last time I was in.

I had so much fun creating these fun, fall, folky outfits and hope they will give you some inspiration for this season! Let me know in the comments what your favorite look is. Happy fall friends!

  1. These photos make me want to go to Old Navy, I think I will! I really like the long cardigan. I am also a fan of a loose cardigan with a form fitting top underneath. I always need ideas, so thanks!

  2. I’m going to get that hat. Just found out we have an Old Navy down the street and I want to go shopping today. Hope they still have it.

  3. Ok I’ve been thinking about getting that dress since I saw this! I just came back to ask… I’m tall, like 5’9″, will it go to my knees do you think?? I’m a medium.
    Thanks! Beautiful photos.

    1. It actually might! Usually their dresses don’t but this one did on me. I am 5″4 and got a S. You may want to try it on first if you have a store near ya.

  4. I love all the looks and would happily buy one of each outfit if I looked as good as you do in them. However, the bold colors of the first outfit appealed to me. In my mind, that’s a perfect fall ensemble.

  5. Wow!!! These are so stinkin’ cute!!! I have a teen-age daughter I need to get fall clothing for and this blog really helped me get some idea’s on how to put Old Navy to better use. . .you gotta love their sales. . .I am going to try popping by this weekend. Thanks, I look forward to getting more idea’s.

  6. Oh my goodness I love the outfits! I am so glad you post the dress one. Where I live it is very hot so even though it’s October I don’t feel like I can dress in all the cute fall outfits I keep seeing! This one is prefect because it still has the fall feeling well not being to hot! I am going shopping this weekend now!

    1. Yes! That is exactly why I included that one… It is still SUPER hot on and off here! thanks for reading <3

  7. I want the floppy hat! I’ve never been much of an old navy shopper, but you’re making me want to go there…

  8. Love this post. It is such a fun time of the year and love your outfits! I think I may have to get out there a do a bit of shopping:)

  9. I love the dress with the hat, looked like you were having fun in some of the shots. The plaid outfit is cute “everyday” wear. And I love the look of the big red sweater…that could just be the 80s girl in me.

  10. I love plaid so much. You look amazing in all of the outfits, but that one is my favourite. I really like the way the stockings create definition between the boots and jeans. Fall is the best 🙂

    1. I love how the cardigan looks like a nice cozy blanket in the close up. I absolutely adore the dress, hat and boot combo. What a cute combination! Also loved the red sweater with the navy blue longer shirt underneath. Great look and you wear it well.
