I don’t know if she is more excited about her new carseat, or the fact that we are headed to the “magic waterfalls” aka. family trip to Niagara Falls.

She watches this show called Bo On The Go that teaches her dance moves like the “galloping horse” or the “bunny hop” and the “penguin waddle”. She insists on being some kind of animal rather than walking any time we are out.

At the hotel she climbed into her crib all by herself and tucked teddy in… She sang him a song and gave him a kiss and hug and then climbed out. Then she cuddled in our bed and fell asleep.

It is so fun having these beautiful falls only a couple hours from where we live. Growing up I dreamed of taking a family trip to Niagara Falls, but it never happened. Now I get to plan that family trip to Niagara Falls with my own family! Kris and I love traveling. We feel so lucky that during this time of our lives where we are pretty poor we ended up in a place with so many amazing cities within driving distance! Kris applied to one medical school really close to home so we could be near family, but he didn’t get in. I always think how nice it isn’t that he didn’t, it forced us to live in a new part of the country. This is somewhere we probably never would have thought to live otherwise. We have loved it so much!

We took a family trip to Niagara Falls with my parents last year, but we never had a chance to ride the Hornblower Niagara Cruise up to the falls. This time we were determined to make it happen. I am so glad we did, it really is the best way to experience the falls. We rushed onto the boat to make sure we would get a good spot to see the falls. There was plenty of room on the boat for everyone to get a front row view of the falls though so we didn’t need to worry. They turn the boat during the trip so it doesn’t matter which side you are on, you still get up close (and soaking wet). Zoey could not stop pointing and saying, “It’s the magic waterfalls mama!!!” Until she noticed all the seagull’s… Then she had to ask what each seagull’s name was individually😂. She is kind of obsessed with what things are named right now.

After the cruise we walked around the city. The Canadian side has SO much to do. We saw four wax museums, three haunted houses, at least five other random museums and so much more. Last year we visited the Ripleys Believe It Or Not Museum which was really interesting. There are also so many restaurants. I haven’t been to the American side of the falls, but I hear the Canadian side is way better and I don’t doubt it. We had so much fun just walking up and down the streets.

The sidewalks were insanely busy, it made me so glad we brought our Recaro stroller. It is small and lightweight and navigates well. We actually liked the stroller so much we got one of their carseats as well, the Recaro Performance SPORT. We tried it for the first time on this road trip. If you want a carseat that is known for safety, get this one! You can just feel how strong and durable it is. Not to mention Zoey says, “It is very comfy mama!!” She loves her new seat. It transitions to a booster as well, so it will last us till she is big enough to ride in her own seat!!! I don’t want to think about that though, I just want her to stay little forever…

We only had a day at the falls, so the Hornblower Niagara Cruise was the first thing we did. I am so glad we didn’t miss that experience. Next time I want to go on their evening cruise and catch the fireworks show. We stayed the night in a hotel just down the road from the falls. We headed to Toronto the next morning. I will get picture of our Toronto trip up next, then HAWAII!!
