Best Peloton Instructors For Spinning Workouts

They all have their own unique way of coaching, and add their own personality and spice to the classes. The one thing they all have in common is the level of professionalism. Every class is well planned and rehearsed. The instructors work with producers to ensure top notch quality. They know their cues and rarely miss a beat. Also, they are all all about coaching, no matter what class you take you will almost never have more than 5-10 seconds of dead air. I love that they talk throughout the ride!

Alex Toussaint

Toussaint has a really chill personality. For example, his classes have a relaxed and inviting feel, but he also doesn’t take any excuses. One thing he likes to say is, ‘We don’t take off what we add one.’ Meaning that once you have added resistance it stays there. As a result, riding with him has taught me to be more conscious with my efforts, not letting it all out at the beginning, but keeping a slow growth through the end of the rise.

Ally Love

Ally Love is the most warm and inviting instructor. Her coaching feels like a big hug. I took one ride with her that she started by saying that she wanted the ride to feel like biting into a warm, chocolate chip cookie. It is hard to imagine how working out could feel like a warm, yummy cookie, but Love has a way of sneaking up on you with the hard work in the most welcoming, judgement free way. It really is that happy, cozy experience of a chocolate chip cookie, but without the stomach ache and calories. I love her soul rides.

Ben Alldis

Ben Alldis is one of the UK instructors. He had a background of being an accomplished athlete, but eventually began working at a prestigious finance firm. While there he found himself dreaming of fitness being a stronger focus in his life, which led to him coaching on the side, and eventually taking a leap of faith, and leaving his finance job to pursue fitness full time. I love knowing that background when I ride because it is an inspirational story to everyone who is trying to pursue their dreams and needs just a little more courage.

I have taken a ton of his classes because I enjoy his easy, relaxed presence. He isn’t as out there as some instructors, which I prefer. instead, he is less of an entertainer and more of a coach, which I prefer to some of the over the top instructors you may encounter.

Christine D’Ercole

I have ridden with Christine D’Ercole a lot as well. She has a warm presence, and is a very experienced professional cyclist. She can give you great advice on your technique from that standpoint. Her rides can be deceptively hard, because she always rides with a smile on her face, and sometimes even chuckles at the crux of a hill. You know she is working hard because you see the sweat, and the pedals moving, but somehow she talks and smiles calmly through it. Two quotes she is known for are:

I am. I can. I will. I do.

Drop your shoulders, drop your baggage.

On a more personal note, her rides have been very inspiring to me. More than once I have cried during one of her rides because she has said EXACTLY what I needed to hear that day.

Cody Rigsby

Cody Rigsby is really fun to ride with. He is motivating and pushes you to do your best, while also reminding you to always have fun. One thing he says a lot is, “Remember, it’s not that deep.” which to me translates as, let your worries go, they aren’t as big as they seem. It is a weight off my shoulders when that reminder hits home on a particularly stressful day.

Denis Morton

I probably have done more rides with Denis Morton than any other instructor. For some reason I always break personal records when I ride with him. I think it is because he is able to force you to let go of your excuses, and call them what they are. He reminds you to ask yourself, are you stopping because you can’t keep going, or you don’t want to, if its the second one, then keep going. On the flip side he does yoga classes which have a calming atmosphere. He is really talented and multi-faceted in his coaching.

Emma Lovewell

Emma Lovewell is such a beautiful person inside and out! I haven’t taken too many of her spinning workouts on the bike, but I’ve taken a ton of her strength workout classes. I did the Crush Your Core program with her and loved it. She has great music taste, is a great dancer, and motivational coach.

Erik Jäger

Erik Jäger is brand new to Peloton in the US, so he only has a few classes. I’ve taken one and he has a good sense of humor. His class felt a little less structured than most, which I appreciated because it gives me a little more freedom to make the ride what I want it to be. One of his goals is to make sure you are smiling the whole time you are on the bike, and he does a great job of it!

Hannah Marie Corbin

Hannah Corbin is so fun to ride with! She is one of my favorite Peloton instructors. She helps you shed your excuses, and recognize your own strength. And we are both from the west coast – so I appreciate having that in common when I ride with her!

Hannah Frankson

Hannah Frankson is so fun to ride with! She is really good at making exercise fun with her upbeat personality. As a competitive triple jumper alongside olympic athletes, she knows how to access hidden power within. If recognizing your own strength has been a struggle for you, she is the one to ride with!

Jenn Sherman

You have to take at least one ride with Jenn Sherman! She is a gem. She was Peloton’s first instructor, and prior to working for Peloton she’d been selling out studio’s for years. It is easy to see why when you ride with her as your coach.

Jess King

I will be completely honest here… I have never been able to make it through a class with Jess King, so I don’t think I can fairly comment on her as a coach. While, I have tried, I tried really hard just for this article, but something about her teaching style gets under my skin. There are lots of people LOVE her coaching, she has an upbeat and vibrant energy, so check her out. You never know what instructor might take you to the next level you want to achieve.

Jess Sims

Jess Sims is one of my favorite instructors because she is so motivating. She has a crazy back story and that reflects in her coaching! She is an empowering woman and super fun to follow along with. Taking a class from her is exciting and tough! She is super empowering and will push you your hardest for sure.

Kendall Toole

Kendall is also super inspiring to ride with! She has a crazy background of boxing, cheer, gymnastics, etc, so she has been around the block! She has a way of pushing you to get past your mental block and give it your all. Riding with her is fun and super empowering.

Leanne Hainsby

Leanne Hainsby is one of Peloton’s UK instructors. She is wonderful to ride with. Leanne is a former professional dancer and is passionate about movement and self-expression. She’s danced since she was 3, and has been on stage with the likes of Taylor Swift and Katy Perry. Leanne’s teaching style will motivate you to step up your game, and get outside your comfort zone. She believes that growth comes from hard work, and will support you to the finish line!

Matt Wilpers

Matt Wilpers is one of my favorite instructors to ride with. He is always positive and upbeat, and has a warm, welcoming and encouraging presence. He teaches Power Zone classes, which are my favorite! Power Zones are a way of competing against yourself, and tracking your growth. They have a 3 or 4 week program that takes you through it, and I went through the whole thing and loved it. Wilpers is a certified IRONMAN training coach, and his experience training is evident in all his Peloton classes. You can’t help but feel motivated when you ride with Matt.

Olivia Amato

Olivia Amato is another one of my favorite instructors, and my husbands too! She is so fun to ride with, and she is one of only three instructors who teaches cycling, tread, and strength classes. She’s really great! I could take her classes everyday!

Robin Arzon

Robin Arzon is another person I can’t fairly comment on because I really don’t enjoy her classes. I have tried to take several and always end up leaving early. However, She is one of the most popular Peloton coaches though, so you should definitely try her out! She is very high energy, similar to Jess King. Also, for some reason the dramatic performance style of coaching doesn’t motivate me, it kind of irritates me, but over half a million Instagram followers seem to think otherwise, so try her out!

Sam Yo

Sam Yo has a down to earth, friendly vibe. He smiles a lot, and reminds riders to smile. I love it when the coaches do that because it actually does make a difference in your ride experience when you smile, but I always forget to! He brings a kind of calm to the hard work of riding Peloton. I was really surprised to learn that he is actually an Ex Buddhist Monk! Even though it’s unrelated, I just thought it was an interesting fact.

Tunde Oyeneyin

Tunde Oyeneyin is another fun one to ride with because she has a way of bringing in positive energy and making you feel like you are super strong. She encourages you to keep going in a forceful way which really makes it seem easy.
