We lucked out and got the BEST neighbors in the world. Zoey, Zander, Ethan and Ella all play so well together. They are always running back and forth between our house and theirs.
Sometimes they play from the moment they wake up, till past dinner. They play so well together, and tend to leave a trail of toys in their wake. Today I made a rule that they couldn’t move to another play area till they had cleaned the one they just messed. I had zero expectations that it would work. My guess was that they’d pick up 2-3 toys, and then sneak off to keep playing somewhere else.
They completely surprised me by cleaning SO well. Every area they left was sparkling clean. Before eating lunch they were doing crafts. You can see how messy that table is in the picture below. We had glitter glue, stickers, paper, scissors, pom-poms, coloring supplies – allllll the fun craft stuff.
When lunch was ready I called them all down to eat, and asked them to tidy the crafts first, again, zero expectations. I was so happily surprised to find all the crafts organized into neat piles. Crayons were back in their cases, most the glitter glues had their lids back on.
Ella was 1000% the leader of this. She is such a good cleaner and always tells me she LOVES cleaning. They are all such good kids! I have a little reward planned for them…
