Let’s talk beauty and self care today! Beauty and self care are things that were almost completely lacking in my life in the first few months of this pregnancy. Being so sick, my main goal was to just survive each day. Makeup, hair and even showering on many days, were the very bottom of my priority list. But even still I missed taking the time every morning to pamper myself a little and ‘get pretty’ for the day. Now that I am feeling so much better it has been such a privilege to focus more on beauty and self care. I really want to treat myself during this time of getting ready for the baby. I have been doing daily moisturizing regimens, trying some amazing new sugar body scrubs in the shower and doing nightly face masks as well.

One thing I have really been wanting to do is go get my eyebrows waxed and shaped. Usually I just pluck my eyebrows myself, but I am always at a loss when it comes to shaping them. They really were getting a little wild and out of control the past few months from non-maintenance, so I decided it was the perfect time to get a fresh start. I booked my first appointment at Waxing The City!

It left me feeling pampered and refreshed!

To start, you are brought to a private and beautiful room. Each room has beautiful and unique artwork that helps set the mood. My City Cerologist was very sweet and welcoming and made sure I really felt comfortable. Aside from waxing my brows, which was actually painless for me, she also taught me how to do my eyebrow makeup! I have been struggling for years to properly shape my brows, and she spent ten minutes at the end of my appointment giving me simple tips for doing just that. Ever since I have been getting compliments on my brows like never before, and they only take me about 45 seconds each while I do my makeup in the morning.

Overall it was a wonderful experience, I was even able to bring my kids along with me. They had lots of extra sitting room for them, and they were totally accommodating of the extra noise and energy. As a mom this was a huge plus, I rarely go back to places that makes me feel uncomfortable with my children being there! Zoey loved the complimentary mini water bottles and mints. We can’t wait to plan our next trip back to Waxing The City!
