Top 10 Hawaiian Places to Eat on the North Shore of Oahu

In case any of you who are new around here aren’t aware… I used to live in Oahu for college! One thing I miss (among many) about that little island is that the Hawaiian food was SO GOOD! I decided to put a list together of the best places to eat on the north shore of Oahu for your next upcoming trip. These places are the best among the best, so make sure to save any that look particularly tasty.

1. Ted’s Bakery

This place is a bakery along with a local Hawaiian barbecue place. Their pies and pastries are AMAZING if you decide to stop there for breakfast, but I always get their plate lunches. Their garlic shrimp is my personal favorite along with the chicken. The one below is a mixed plate with the chicken and shrimp. So. Good. Here is a link to their menu.

2. Farm to Barn

This place is a cute little farm in Haleiwa. Their veggies are fresh and their meet is grass fed! It is so fresh and also vegan friendly if you choose. I got the taro burger which was to die for. It has an assortment of greens with a grass fed beef patty served on a taro bun. If you aren’t familiar with taro, it is a local Hawaiian food sort of like a potato. Here is a link to their website if you are interested.

3. Kahuku Farms

This is one that you cannot skip. Like Farm to barn, this place is fresh grown at the farm. Their greens are super fresh and their smoothies are amazing. I always get the farm pizza and the banana bread. It will change your life. Here is a link to their menu– they have weird hours so make sure to hit them when they are open!

4. Waialua Bakery

If you want a killer sandwich, this is the place for you! These sandwiches are loaded with sprouts and other fresh veggies. They also have some tasty pastries and breads. One of my favorite orders here is the hunk of warm bread. You can choose which topping to put on it. It tastes like mom’s bread fresh out of the oven. Here is a link to their menu

5. Pounders

If you really want a sit down experience with amazing food and great service, this is the place for you. The picture below isn’t the best quality, but my favorite from the menu is the mango pizza. It is SO AMAZING. They also have some top quality Hawaiian food. Also pictured below is the pineapple fried rice- literally served in a pineapple. Such a cool experience and tastes amazing. They are located in Laie at the PCC.

6. 7 Brothers

This place has killer burgers as well as fresh seafood. They have 2 locations: one in Kahuku and one in Laie. I would recommend the grilled ahi or the Shem burger. Here is a link to their menu

7. Pupukea Grill

This is a great place to stop if you are one on of the beaches up North Shore. It is right across from Sharks cove and only open for lunch. They serve Hawaiian food as well, but it is super top quality. Pictured below is the Hawaiian bowl. It has poke, teri beef, taro, and pineapple all served on rice. Another great option here is the regular poke bowls or the smoothies. Here is a link to their location.

8. Banzai Bowls

If you are looking for a mid day pick me up, I would stop by Banzai bowls. This is the best Acai bowl on the north shore, in my opinion. They come with tons of toping options and generous portion sizes.

9. Raised By the Waves

If you prefer vegan food, this is the place for you. They exclusively serve vegan food and it is all super tasty. It is somewhat overpriced (in my opinion) but great quality. This avocado toast was especially good.

10. Sunrise Shack

This is a tourist favorite. It is not my personal go to, but if you want a great picture by the aesthetic little hut and some beautiful food this is the place for you.

I hope you got some food inspiration from this post! If you weren’t planning a trip to Oahu, I bet you are now. Let me know in the comments down below if you had an experience at any of these delicious restaurants!
