Winter Traditions

This post is sponsored by Johnson’s.

Since we got home to Erie we have been surrounded by a winter wonderland. The snow hit much earlier this year than last. Up in Yonkers the weather was a lot more gentle, we had no snow at all. So it was quite a shock coming back to this. At least 20 times a day I hear Zoey say, “Hey Mommy!! I have a great idea!! Let’s go play in the snow!”. Zoey always liked the winter, since she was a baby. Then last year she decided she hated the snow. I was hoping it wouldn’t be a permanent thing, and sure enough, her snow love is back in full force.

Zoey and I have been filling up our time with super fun winter activities to get in the festive spirit. Some of our favorite things are following bunny prints in the snow, going in the hot tub while it is snowing, collecting fresh snow and eating it with syrup on, searching for Santa in the snow and building miniature snowmen. When we aren’t playing in the snow, we like to put a fire in the hearth and enjoy hot cocoa and Christmas music. Yesterday we decorated a gingerbread house too (vlogged that fun-ness here)! Everything is festive and Christmassy around here.

One thing that is NOT so festive is the way winter weather effects my skin. I could tell the weather was changing even if I never looked outside because my hands start to feel so dry. My face and lips feel chapped too. Recently I have been using some Johnson’s baby products in my daily winter skin care routine. They are extra gentle on my skin and super moisturizing for this winter weather. I love the Johnson’s head-to-toe baby lotion. I put it on my face right when I wake up, about 30 minutes before I apply makeup. I also use it on my feet before I go to bed!

The Johnson’s bedtime baby bath soap is one I love using in my morning showers. The gentle fragrance helps provide a relaxing experience for babies in the evening. It is perfect for a bedtime skin care routine. But for me it offers a soothing scent which helps me feel calm and ready to conquer the day. I think I go through this baby bath soap faster than my kids do! I can’t get enough… It is essential to my winter skin care and helps my skin feel softer than ever.

Having soft, moisturized skin during the winter makes the whole season so much more enjoyable. I enjoy playing out in the snow with my kids more when I am not feeling the uncomfortable combination of freezing cold air and dry skin and chapped lips. My kids LOVE playing in the snow recently, so it is great that I can enjoy it too. I love how Johnson’s doesn’t just make my kids lives and routine better, it also works for me!

Now I really want to turn off my computer and head out to do some of our favorite winter activities. I think we will go sledding this afternoon and soak in the hot tub while it snows tonight. But I couldn’t start the day without sharing my new winter skin care hack with you guys! Who would have thought baby bath care products would be my favorite beauty tools?!!
