Please give song recommendations!

    1. Almost any Pink song would be good for someone of your vocal range it just depends on what you’re comfortable with.

  9. Maybe a good song would be lego house- By: Ed sheeran. That would probaly be a good song for someone with a wide range.

  10. I have an audition for AGT in January and I’m struggling to find a song and a backup song for the audition. I have a pretty good range. Any suggestions would be nice. I love more slower songs.

  12. Hey. I want to audition for the voice. I have before and I’ve auditioned for ago a few years ago, but didn’t make it either time. I didn’t have enough experience and I didn’t know many songs or have a wide enough range. I’m am currently songwriting and still singing at a performing arts school. I still had to come look up some songs to audition with and made a list out of these ones. Now I need help picking 5 songs out. I basically sing whatever genre I’m given unless it’s in a different language. Please help me. I am a soprano and alto…. so I just need help to pick out some songs that would help me stand out as a 14 year old auditioning. Thanks!!

    1. Someone like you – Adele it has amazing vocals. Say you wont let go! Stone cold – Demi Lovato if you have an incredible range and a big voice . Unsteady! And another is How far ill go by moana!

  13. Hi, I am 13 years old. I am auditioning for AGT (America’s Got Talent) on December 12th. Can anyone recommend a song for me? I am a soprano. Thank you!

  14. I have an audition for a high school choir in a few weeks and I can’t find a song to sing! I want to do a song that I know well, most likely in the pop genre. My range is quite big and I can sing high and low. Help!!!

  15. I’m 13 and pretty soon I’m having an audition for an arts high school. It is very difficult for me to find the right song because my voice is very deep but I’m a female. Could you help me choose a song please and thank you?!

    1. I think a good song for a female who has a deep voice would be Lost Boy-Ruth B. When it comes some, you can drop it a note or two, maybe even a octave if you want.

  16. Hey Rachel, Like I said earlier I feel like I want to go on AGT, but I just need that “perfect song” do you have any suggestions?
    Thank you!

    1. I think choosing an audition song is really difficult without knowing much about you. My go to tactics for choosing an audition song is choosing something that shows off my vocal range, but doesn’t push it too far, and something that I really relate to personally. Do you have an off beat favorite song?? Something not super popular, but that you just love anyways? Something like that might be a great choice.

  17. hi, I’m going to audition and I am 14 and I have a strong and loud voice and I have a pretty good range. I’m in a choir right now and I’m a soprano 1 but I can be a tenner if I pushed. So I need a song idea that would showcase my voice and blow the judges away. So any ideas would be great. Thanks

    1. Maybe try a song by Demi Lovato like “Confident” or “Skyscraper” which are two amazing songs hope you blow them away 🙂

    2. I am auditioning for AGT in a few weeks anyone have any tips or song choices. My vocal range is E3 to C6, I believe that is soprano if I am not mistaken.

  18. Hello. Great song choices on your list!
I am auditioning for the voice in my country & the first stage is acapella. I am a soprano 2 & I need song rec that would help show off my voice but still work with no instrumentals or backing tracks. Thank you!

  19. My niece auditioned for the voice with”Can’t fight this feeling” by Justin Timberlake. Got called back for 2nd song

  20. Hey Rachael! I’m 15 and I have a call back audition with the One Voice Children’s Choir in about two weeks and still havent been able to find a song. I only can sing 30 seconds of two different songs that differentiate in pace and tempo. I don’t have a super high range but I don’t want to sing a song that switches between thre notes haha. Please let me know if you have any ideas for me! Thank you 🙂

  21. I’m a teen girl and Im a alto..any song rec? I’m not sure what would be best for me, I sing rap, r&b, pop.

    1. Try ‘Brave’ By Sara Bareilles. I love this song, and can jump straight into it without any instrumental! It’s upbeat, and easy to remember.

    2. I think a great song for you would be problem by riana Grande and iggy Azalea. I know Ariana goes super high but you could take it down an octave or two-maybe even three and also the rap part is up beat, and easy to speak through.

  22. I usually sing Broadway songs but I would like to audition for the Voice. What would be a good song for me to sing?

  23. I usually sing Broadway songs but I would like to audition for the Voice. What would be a song for me to sing as an audition?

  24. Hey Rachael! I have some recommendations for your list. Secret Love Song (part 2 for people who want to do it alone) by little mix, nobody like you by little mix, Towers by little mix, Tell me you love me by demi lovato, warrior by demi lovato, human by Christina Perri, and Smoke and Mirrors by demi lovato. Smoke and mirrors hits some highish notes at the end but it’s a really meaningful and strong song. also i’m a soprano 2, so anyone who is a mezzo soprano could sing these. Also, homesick by dua lipa is a good song too.

  25. I’m auditioning for the Voice and I have no idea what song to sing. I was thinking about “Speechless” from Aladdin… but idk. Any ideas?

    1. If you like Disney-like songs I would recommend these: The Gospel Truth I, II and III (Hercules); Journey to the past (Anastasia), Far longer than forever (The Swan Princess); Let me be your wings (Thumbelina); All is found (Frozen II). as you can see they’re not all from Disney movies, and they’re not the principal songs of each movie but they are phenomenal songs that I’m sure will make you shine if you make them yours and give them your own style. Wish you luck and have fun!

    1. hi, it depends what you mean by light voice. there are basically two people i refer to people that have a light voice. people that cannot belt and people that have an ariana or melanie martinez type voice. for type one, you should try to widen your range a bit, and for type two maybe avril lavigne innocence or basically any songs of melanie or ari.

  26. Deciding what song to sing at an audition is a challenge. But honestly having to memorize songs that are chosen for me is little overwhelming. Can you tell me about that process for memorizing? Any insight on the process on these shows where song pieces are pulled together to create a shorter version of a song for time sake.

    1. My voice and piano teachers always told me that you have to sing/play something ten times to commit it to memory. Go line by line, and once you can sing it ten times in a row (without mistakes) than it should be committed to memory! Do that for each line of song.

  27. I’m trying to figure out what song I should sing for my schools show choir audition. I gave to sing a chorus and a verse for the audition, from ANY song I want. I am a Sorprano 2.

  28. I am going to sing on a rising stars singing competition solo, and i have no clue of what to sing. Does anybody have an idea?

    1. You could sing Stay With Me by Sam Smith. In my opinion it isn’t so hard and isn’t too old. It newer and everyone knows it.

    1. You could sing “A Thousand Years” by Christina Perri. the notes are not too high and not too low, perfect for beginners. Also, it is very smooth and continuous.

      1. I agree! A thousand Years is a great one – another idea that came to mind is trying to find a song by Little Mix. I love “These Four Walls” and they are a girl group!

  29. Aaah! I’m auditioning for my high school show choir in like one month and a half and I don’t know what song to sing! I have a middle alto voice and want to sing a fun but powerful song. Any suggestions?

  30. I was thinking of singing Talking to the Moon by Bruno Mars. Do you think that would be a good song to audition wit?

    1. Yes depending on your voice but honestly it’ll be great I’m a huge expect in music if you ever need any help😁

  31. Ok, I am auditioning for sister Mary Robert in sister act! I need a song ASAP! I don’t know a lot so it’s really tricky. I need help!

        1. Yes!
I would also recommend Letter From the Refuge!
I’ve done Watch What Happens, it is an amazing audition song!

  32. Update: If you have a high range, I suggest blowing away any judges with an excerpt from “I’ll never Love again,” from A Star is Born, this could KILL.

      1. dear rachael,
I mostly sing in a high voice which my friends and family agree i sound best in. However i can also bring a bit of power in my singing. Could tell me a good song to sing for friends and family? Also, in our country ( Pakistan) we do not have voice kids. so how do i showcase my talent?

        1. Hi Zoe!! My daughter is named Zoey – love that name! I have a higher range too and like to sing powerful songs and one of my FAVORITES to sing is ‘These Four Walls’ by Little Mix. Since you don’t have a TV show to try for, I would recommend putting your covers on Instagram, and YouTube! Start commenting on other peoples pages and following others to help grow your reach. This is how I share my singing!! Best of luck.

  33. What do you think of the song “This is Me,” from the Greatest Showman? Also, does anyone else have any good ideas for an alto –> seprano song that is kind of in the middle range?

    1. Yes!!!! I sang This Is Me on many occasions! You should stick with it! Good luck on singing!😁

  34. Fight Song by Rachel Platten is a good powerful one, there’s also ill be there for you by Alec Benjamin if youŕe looking for a nice evenly splittable duet, run to you by Lea Michele, and also Run by Leona Lewis is a great one if you´re looking to evoke emotion in the audience

    1. Can you audition with musical theater songs for the voice because I’m a theater kid and finding a pop song that showcases my voice properly is difficult for me because thaws not my usual area

    1. If you don’t have anything nice to say don’t say it all all because some people might enjoy these songs

    2. not really your wrong if you don’t like the songs why did you even bother to come on the website dumbass

    1. yass that’s a really good one for people who wanna audition and connect with the crowd. I’m auditioning next year for the voice with the song”Gravity” by Sara Bareilles soo wish me luck!!!

    1. What about Somewhere over the rainbow? Giving it a more soulful style? I wanted to do that. gp

  42. I am enthusiastically suggesting Van Morrison songs for the voice. I feel Adam would love it if his choices would include Crazy Love , Wild Night, Moonlight or so many other songs by this brilliant, iconic musician. Please let us not allow this amazing talent be forgotten. I just believe Adam would so appreciate being reminded of Van. Thank you. I would REALLY appreciate you passing this along!

  44. I sang “Need You Now” by Dean Lewis, “Human” by Jon Bellion, and “Bloodstream” by Ed Sheeran and they loved them!

  45. Hi. I’m auditioning for the voice next week & was wondering if a Patsy Cline song would work to get past the open call, I know not many would do her is why I ask.

    1. I always recommend doing the song that shows off your voice best! If that song happens to be a unique one, I think that is a great way to stand out from the crowd.

  46. I see your website needs some fresh content.

Writing manually takes a lot of time, but there is tool for this boring task,
search for; Wrastain’s tools for content

    1. Hello, I’m 31 years old and auditioning for The Voice on Feb 4th. I’m having trouble settling on a song, I’m a fairly high soprano but can range easily into a mezzo-soprano. I’ve been singing since I was 2 so this is a nerve racking time for me trying to figure out which will really show off my range and ability. I’m by no means professionally trained, but was in choir and NYSMA, a few competitions during school, have sung many solos during my time in the choir. Also any advice for keeping calm? Any help is greatly appreciated. ♡
